How to resize images
- Choose one or more image files or drag them into the box above.
- Enter the new dimensions, then press Resize.
- Download files individually or download the whole batch as a ZIP.
Set exact pixel dimensions for avatars, thumbnails, listings, or social posts. The image is resized on your device with the aspect ratio locked by default so nothing gets distorted.
Supported formats
Input: PNG, JPG, and WebP images. Output: the same format as the input, at your chosen dimensions. WebP output requires Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
Is this private?
Yes. FormatOtter runs entirely in your browser using the built-in canvas API. Your image is never sent to a server or seen by anyone. To preserve an unfinished queue across refreshes, your browser may keep a local copy on this device until processing succeeds or you clear the queue. You can even load this page and then disconnect from the internet; the tool keeps working.

Frequently asked questions
Will resizing distort my image?
Not with the aspect-ratio lock on (the default): changing one dimension updates the other automatically. Untick it only if you deliberately want to stretch the image.
Can I make an image larger?
Yes, but enlarging can't add detail — the browser interpolates pixels, so upscaled images look progressively softer.
Does resizing reduce file size?
Usually, yes — fewer pixels means less data. For maximum savings, resize first, then run the result through the compress tool.
